Clean fossil fuels and carbon abatement technologies

The research focuses on near zero emission coal and gas power generation, encompassing emerging CO2 capture technologies, biomass co-firing, oxyfuel combustion and high temperature materials for improving efficiencies and lifetimes.  We have around 60 research students active in this area and 14 academic staff active in this field.    University of Nottingham colleagues are members of the UK CCS Research Centre.
